Anna Knapp Fitz: A Portrait of an Artist

annie fitz

Now through October 12, 2008

Primarily self-taught, this Los Altos resident called herself a primitive artist. In a home made from a tank house, Annie studied music, taught herself to paint and sculpt, and recorded scenes old and new with refreshing vitality and candor.

Naturally endowed with artistic talent and a winsome charm, Annie gave the Los Altos area a prolific collection of paintings, sculptures, sketches, poems and historical stories, which will be on display at the Los Altos History Museum June 26 - October 12, 2008. This biographical exhibit features works never before displayed. Click here for details.

The History Museum complex is admission FREE.

Visitors are welcome to enjoy the gardens even when the house
and museum are closed. Picnic tables are available for lunch under the heritage oaks.
